On this page you will find useful guides, interviews and articles that provide insight and knowledge into different industries and careers. This library of resources will be updated regularly, and members of the wider Cranleigh Network are welcome to share any resource they have found useful or interesting.
On Thursday 19th November 2020, the Cranleigh Network hosted a virtual Careers in Media event. As part of this event, we interviewed Alan Rusbridger, Sue Llewellyn and Rob Curling about their careers to date. All interviews are available to view here. We hope you enjoy listening to the views of these OCs who have forged successful careers in the media industry, and find the advice they offer useful. In the Personal Stories section of this page you will find written interviews with Will Stocks who works as a 3D artist in the games industry, and Benji Millar, an OC who chose not to go to university straight from school and who has found a different route into the media industry.
Our second virtual networking event was held on Tuesday 11th May based around Women in Business. Much has been written about the positives and negatives of holding female only networking events but we felt it was relevant to host an evening where female speakers shared their stories. A video of the talks given by OCs Deborah Gray and Nikki Earthrowl, and Toucan Tech founder Kate Jillings will be shared here soon. Prior to the evening we also spoke with another OC Andrea Sparke and the recording of her interview can be found here too. We hope you enjoy hearing about the careers these ladies have forged, and although the evening was called Women in Business, we think everyone will find what they have to say interesting.
Please click here to read an interview with one of our younger OCs, Sophia Ambrose about her career to date and the choices she has made so far. Her story can also be found in the Personal Stories section of this page along with interviews with other OCs about their careers.
